Asmara, 31 May 2016 – The Eritrean delegation attending the 69th session of the World Health Assembly delivered statement representing 47 African countries.

In his statement, the Charge d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of the State of Eritrea to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, Mr. Bereket Woldeyohannes underlined that all member states and International Organizations have a legal and moral obligation to provide healthcare to all migrants and refugees.

Issues including reorganization of the WHO, combating communicable diseases such as Ebola epidemic and Zika virus, supply and finding medicines as well as health and human migration were discussed.

Eritrea’s Ambassador to France, Ms. Hanna Simon led the Eritrean delegation.
