Eritreans residing in the Diaspora celebrate Independence Day
Eritreans residing in different parts of the world celebrated the Jubilee Independence Day anniversary with enthusiasm and in patriotic zeal.
Asmara, 02 June 2016- Eritreans residing in different parts of the world celebrated the Jubilee Independence Day anniversary with enthusiasm and in patriotic zeal.
The celebrations that were conducted at the AU Headquarters, African countries, North America, Australia and Europe were highlighted with varied programs depicting the culture and societal values of the Eritrean people.

Headquarters in which diplomats of African countries took part, Eritrean Ambassador to the African Union and Economic Commission of Africa,
Mr. Araya Desta underscored that Eritrea has registered commendable achievements with regards ensuring peace and stability as well as social justice by foiling all sorts of conspiracies against Eritrea that do not have legal foundations.
Independence Day celebrations in connection with the Jubilee Independence Day Anniversary were also observed in Nairobi, Kenya, Johannesburg, South Africa, and Kampala, Uganda as well as in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha, Qatar.
Similar Independence Day celebrations were held in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia; Toronto and Saskatoon, Canada, as well as in different cities of Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the UK, the Netherlands and France.
In all the celebrations the Eritrea nationals asserted that the Independence Day celebration has special meaning the fact that it is being celebrated at the time the Government and people of Eritrea are registering commendable economic development. They also expressed conviction to reinforce participation for the success of the national development programs.
The celebrations were highlighted with cultural shows, sports competitions and other activities.
