Massawa, 16 June 2016- The residents of Asnada, Asmat sub-zone, expressed that the efficient healthcare services being provided is making due contribution in ensuring their health.
They also explained that the occurrences of malaria cases, maternal and child mortality during delivery as well as other communicable diseases have substantially been reduced thanks to the guidelines on the part of the healthcare professionals and medical services that have been provided at the communal hospital.
Explaining about the healthcare progress that has been registered in the sub-zone, Mr. Mulu’e Beyin, head of the communal hospital, said that immunization and awareness raising programs have been highly instrumental and thus the number of mothers giving birth in healthcare centers has shown substantial growth.
Mr. Eyasu Weldearegay, head of the malarial control in the subzone, on his part said that the distribution of impregnated anti malaria bed nets to pregnant women and clearing suspected malaria mosquito breeding places have been among the regular activities of the malaria control unit.
