An artistic exhibition accompanied with a video show depicting the barbaric atrocities and massacre committed by the enemy upon the people of Badme in the mid 1980’s was displayed at Harnet Avenue in connection with June 20, Martyrs’ Day.
Asmara, 20 June 2016- An artistic exhibition accompanied with a video show depicting the barbaric atrocities and massacre committed by the enemy upon the people of Badme in the mid 1980’s was displayed at Harnet Avenue in connection with June 20, Martyrs’ Day. The exhibition was officially opened on June 17th by Ambassador Zemede Tekle, Commissioner of Culture and Sports.
The Video show that was in display in front of the main office of the Ministry of Education was prepared by artist Ghidei Ghebremichael. The exhibition is a continuation of the artistic performances staged every year in connection with Martyrs’ day.
Artist Ghidei said that this year’s exhibition sheds light to the barbaric and brutal atrocities committed in Badme upon women and children by soldiers of the Derg regime supported by aerial bombardment.
The exhibition received broad acclaim and admiration amongst the general public. The artistic show is organized for the 16th time.
