MoT exerting increased effort to develop tourism services

Mr. Mohammed Idris, Director General for Tourism Services in the Ministry of Tourism, stated that strong effort is being exerted to develop tourism services.

 

Asmara, 08 July 2016- Mr. Mohammed Idris, Director General for Tourism Services in the Ministry of Tourism, stated that strong effort is being exerted to develop tourism services.

Noting that tourism services mainly relate to satisfying customers with proper accommodation, accordingly awareness raising programs, training and inspection activities are being conducted with a view to developing the capacity and efficiency of service provision institutions.

He also stated that regular training is being provided by Halhale College of Business and Economics.

The over one thousand tourism service provision institutions before independence were mainly confined to major cities. The number has now increased to 7,409 with distribution nationwide.
