Mr. Yemane Abay, head of Agriculture and Land in the Central region, indicated that 95% of the administrative areas in the region have become beneficiaries of potable water supply.
Asmara, 04 August 2016- Mr. Yemane Abay, head of Agriculture and Land in the Central region, indicated that 95% of the administrative areas in the region have become beneficiaries of potable water supply. He made the remark during an inspection visit he conducted to the potable water project site in Temamo administrative area. He further said that out of the 86 administrative areas in the region 82 have become beneficiaries of potable water.
The administrator of the Temamo administrative area, Mr. Mahmud Omar underlined that the residents had to travel more than three kilometers to fetch water and to date with the completion of the project their problem will be permanently solved.
Eng. Tewodros Gebreyesus, project coordinator at the Eritrean Red Cross Society, said that the construction of the water project worth more than one million Nakfa is nearing completion and with that the water supply problem of the residents will be solved.
The residents indicated that they have been victims of water borne diseases due to the lack of clean water and that they will contribute their level capacity for the success of the project.
Temamo administrative area, Gala-Nefhi sub-zone is located 40 kilometers east of Asmara.
