The environmental sanitation popular campaign that has been initiated in cooperation with the residents and the Ministry of Health branch in the Red Sea region is significantly contributing in controlling the prevalence of communicable diseases.

Massawa, 11 October 2017- The environmental sanitation popular campaign that has been initiated in cooperation with the residents and the Ministry of Health branch in the Red Sea region is significantly contributing in controlling the prevalence of communicable diseases.

The head of the Planning, Information and Control of Communicable Diseases in the region, Mr. Woldeyesus Belai pointed out that the sustainable vaccination program being conducted at national level has contributed in the commendable control of the prevalence of communicable diseases. Mr. Woldeyesus reiterated that the eradication of the prevalence of polio, measles, TB and others attests to the strong efforts exerted.

Indicating that pregnant women are conducting routine medical checkup and children provided with regular vaccination, Mr. Woldeyesus said that the occurrence of communicable diseases has significantly been reduced. The sustainable environmental sanitation program has also contributed its part, He added.

Mr. Woldeyesus pointed out that the Ministry of Health is rigorously working to control the border crossing of the dangerous communicable diseases including Ebola, Hepatitis, Measles, Influenza, and others.
