Prevalence of communicable diseases on decline

The sustainable awareness raising and environmental sanitation popular campaigns has significantly contributed in reducing the prevalence of communicable diseases and especially that of malaria in Asmat sub-zone.

Keren, 13 October 2017- The sustainable awareness raising and environmental sanitation popular campaigns has significantly contributed in reducing the prevalence of communicable diseases and especially that of malaria in Asmat sub-zone.

According to Nurse Mulue Beyn, head of the health center in the sub-zone, the number of people infected by malaria has been declining from time to time and that in the past nine moths only 14 people have been infected.

Nurse Mulue further said that the 16 thousand impregnated bed nets distributed to the public coupled with the sustainable awareness raising campaigns have contributed to the decline of the prevalence of communicable diseases.

He also called for immediate report to the health facility in case of the occurrence of malaria.
