More diplomatic activities by Eritrean nationals abroad

Praiseworthy achievements are being registered through the diplomatic activities being conducted by the Eritrean nationals residing abroad.

Asmara, 02 October 2017- Praiseworthy achievements are being registered through the diplomatic activities being conducted by the Eritrean nationals residing abroad.

The diplomatic activities which were recently conducted by Eritrean nationals residing in Germany, Kuwait, France, and USA were aimed at strengthening the organizational capacity, reinforcing the role of the nationals in the national development drives and portraying the true image of Eritrea as well as strengthening diplomatic relationships with countries and international organizations.

According to report, the youth organization known as “Eritrean Group for Action” conducted a meeting under the theme “Let’s Practically Contribute Our Share in Building Prosperous Eritrea” on 28 October in Frankfurt.

Commending the activities of the youth organization with the aim of promoting nationalism and social justice, Mr. Yohannes Debas, Eritrean Consul General, called on the youth to nurture and preserve the noble societal and national values of their country and to diligently work for the success of set out national development drives.

In the same vein, the PFDJ members of the Upper North Germany sub branch also conducted annual meeting in Berlin.

The Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy, Mr. Yohannes Woldu delivered extensive briefing on the objective situation in the homeland and called for strengthening organizational capacity and enhancing contribution.

Likewise, the National Union of the Eritrean Women (NUEW) branch in Germany conducted a six-month activity assessment meeting on 28 and 29 October in Frankfurt.

At the meeting the participants held discussions on the progress of the set out programs and their outcomes as well as on the strengths and weaknesses of their organization.

The Eritrean community in Kuwait also held a meeting with the aim to expand their organization and resilience.

In a speech they delivered, the Charge d’ Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Kuwait, Mr. Idris Mohamed-Ali, the head of the Community, Mr. Osman Naib, and head of Consular Affairs, Mr. Simon Teklesenbet gave briefings on the role of the nationals in the Diaspora in the nation building process as well on the significance of strengthening organizational capacity.

In another diplomatic activity, the Charge d’Affairs of the Permanent Representative of Eritrea to the UN, Mr. Amanuel Georgio and the Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN, Mr. Durga P. Bhattarai signed a document for establishing official diplomatic ties between Eritrea and Nepal.

The agreement also includes developing brotherly and peaceful relations as well as ensuring global peace and security.

In another event, the Ambassador of Eritrea to France, Mrs. Hanna Simon is participating at the 39th General Assembly of UNESCO that is being held in Paris from 30 October to 14 November.
