Keren, 22 December 2017 – Seminar on the progress of adult education was organized for teachers and supervisors in Keren city.
At the 5-day seminar participants discussed on the progress of adult education and its future programs, on the significance of expanding adult education libraries, as well as on the importance of education for late beginners and its progress. Participants also developed a guideline on the development of a five year work plan.
Speaking at the seminar, representative of the Ministry of Education in the Anseba region Teacher Mehamed-Omer Abdela indicated that effort is required to successfully eradicate illiteracy.
Teacher Mohamed-Omer also called for enhanced endeavor in ensuring the sustainability of the success registered in comprehensive education particularly in illiteracy eradication program by identifying the weaknesses and eliminating them.
Director General of Adult Education and Media in the Ministry of Education, Mr. Gebrezghi Dimam on his part commending the contribution of the teachers and supervisors in promoting adult education called on the society and concerned bodies to play due role in expanding the program to remote areas.
