Massawa, 23 December 2017 – A meeting aimed at enhancing the teaching and learning process and thereby strengthening the capacity and competence of students was conducted in Foro sub zone.
In a meeting he conducted with the residents of administrative areas of Malka, Zula, Airomale, Robrobia, Ruba Hadas, Hadish, Arebto, Afta, Irafale and Foro, the Head of Education at the sub zone, Mr. Ismael Ali called on parents and stakeholder to conduct integrated effort to enhance the quality of education and for nurturing competent students.
Mr. Ismael also indicated that in 2017 one school in the sub zone was upgraded from elementary to secondary school and one kindergarten was opened and are significantly contributing in the development of the teaching and learning process.
Pointing out that the number of female high school students’ drop out has been increasing and that strong effort is being conducted to curb the problem. He also called on parents to play due role to that end.
The parents on their part, called for the proper implementation of the school laws and regulations, to provide due attention for the schools that need additional class rooms as well as establishing more secondary schools to enable students get their secondary school education in their areas.
In Foro sub zone, there are 34 schools ranging from kindergarten to secondary schools providing service to around 4 thousand students.
