Youth trained in bee farming

As part of the effort being exerted by the National union of Eritrean Youth and Students (NUEYS), 50 youth in Ghinda sub-zone were provided two months training in bee farming.

Massawa, 25 January 2018- As part of the effort being exerted by the National union of Eritrean Youth and Students (NUEYS), 50 youth in Ghinda sub-zone were provided two months training in bee farming.

The head of the union branch in the sub-zone, Mr. Idris Osman indicated that during the training the trainees were paid 400 Nakfa each and they will also be extended each with 20,000 Nakfa interest free loan.

Mr. Idris said that the objective of the training was to enable the youth improve their livelihoods through income generation schemes and called for applying the training they received practically on the ground. He also called on the NUEYS and the  Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare to exert regular follow up and encourage them in all their endeavors.

The trainees received certificates of participation from the administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Omar Yahia Haj and the head of the NUEYS Central Office, Mr. Okbai Berhe.

Bicycles were also provided to some of the trainees that came from far areas.

It is to be recalled that the Ghinda NUEYS branch organized 7 months training last year for 40 youth in the sub-zone in wood and steel works, basic computer application and graphics.
