The National Association of the Visually Impaired organized a seminar in the Senafe town on 18 February to discuss on the role of the society in improving the lives of the visually impaired citizens.
Senafe, 27 February 2918- The National Association of the Visually Impaired organized a seminar in the Senafe town on 18 February to discuss on the role of the society in improving the lives of the visually impaired citizens.
At the seminar in which members of the association, area administrators and concerned public institutions took part, the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Dawit Fissehaye indicated that extensive awareness raising programs are being conducted to realize the multi-sectoral participation of the visually impaired citizens and that so far commendable achievement has been registered.
Mr. Dawit said that the association is making stepped-up endeavors targeting the laying of groundwork for assisting members become productive members of the society, besides promoting community concern regarding visually impaired nationals.
Indicating that the efforts to enable the visually impaired citizens become self supportive and exemplary members of the society has paid off, the advisor of the association, Mr. Gebremeskel Fesha called on the public to reinforce participation for better outcome.
The administrator of the Senafe sub-zone, Mr. Idris Ali on his part pointed out that the association is exerting its level best to enable the visually impaired citizens become beneficiaries of social services and called on the public and administrations to stand along side them in all their endeavors.
The National Association of the Blind that was established in 1996 has branches in the five regions and has three thousand registered members.
