Conviction to strengthen participation in national issues

Eritrean women residing in Switzerland and Germany expressed conviction to strengthen organizational capacity and participation in national development programs.

Asmara, 29 March 2018- Eritrean women residing in Switzerland and Germany expressed conviction to strengthen organizational capacity and participation in national development programs.

The National Union of Eritrean Women branches in the Swiss cities of Geneva, Sion, St. Gallen, Burn, Fribourg, Basel, Losone, Chur, Monthey, Solothurn, Lucerne, Neuchatel, and Vevey organized an event in connection with the International Women’s Day, March 8, featuring various activities depicting the history of Eritrean women as well as the culture and tradition of the Eritrean people.

The Acting Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy, Mr. Adm Osman gave briefing on the heroic feat and contribution of the Eritrean women in the struggle for independence and safeguarding the national sovereignty and called for bequeathing the shining history to posterity.

In the same vein, the members of the German branch of the NUEW held its six months meeting on 24 and 25 March in Frankfurt.

At the meeting in which representatives from 24 sub-branches took part six months activity report vis-à-vis the charted out program was presented. The participants conducted extensive discussion on the reports presented.
