In its 11th commencement held yesterday 7 July, the Eritrean Institute of Technology which comprises the Colleges of Engineering, Science and Education has graduated 1,313 students.
Asmara, 08 July 2018 – In its 11th commencement held yesterday 7 July, the Eritrean Institute of Technology which comprises the Colleges of Engineering, Science and Education has graduated 1,313 students.
According to the report, the students are graduated in 45 fields of studies of which 32 were graduated with Master Degree, 678 with Bachelor Degree and 603 with a diploma.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr. Semere Russom, Minister of Education, said that graduation is an occasion in which students accomplish one step in their carrier and join the workforce in the nation building process.
Minister Semere sated that the Government is making substantial investment in expanding higher education institutes across the country and that the number of higher education institute has increased from 1 in pre-independence to 8 after independence. He further said that the number of students joining the higher education institutes has also tremendously increased.
The Vice President of the college, Prof. Medhanie Gebrehiwet on his part said that the Eritrean Institute of Technology is contributing its part in producing human resources that will have significant impact in the national development drives within the context of the national macro economic policy.
Established in 2004, the Eritrean Institute of Technology starting from 2008 has graduated a total of 14, 884 students including 131 with Masters, 5565 with Bachelors Degree, 9093 in Diploma and 78 with Certificate.
