Veteran fighters Brig. Gen. Temesgen Berhe and Tesfai Tekle passed away

Veteran freedom fighters Brig. Gen. Temesghen Berhe and Tesfay Tecle passed away at the age of 71 and 69 respectively.

Asmara, 10 August 2018 – Veteran freedom fighters Brig. Gen. Temesghen Berhe and Tesfay Tecle passed away at the age of 71 and 69 respectively.

Brig. Gen. Temesghen Berhe joined the ELF in 1967 and later the EPLF in 1971 and served his country and people in various capacities including as Senior Coordinator for Training and Management of Heavy Weapons.
Veteran fighter Brig. Gen. Temesghen Berhe is survived by his wife and two children.

Veteran fighter Tesfay Tecle joined the ELF in 1967 and after independence served his country and people in various capacities including as Head of Social Services in the Northern Red Sea Region.
Veteran fighter Tesfai Tekle is survived by his wife and three children.

The funeral service of Brig. Gen. Temesghen Berhe and Tesfay Tecle will be held tomorrow, Saturday 11 August at 10AM at the Asmara Martyrs Cemetery.

Expressing deep sorrow in the passing of the veteran fighters Brig. Gen. Temesghen Berhe and Tesfay Tecle, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Local Government express condolences to families and friends.
