International Day of Reading observed

The International Day of Reading, 10 September, was observed at the Central region under the theme “Reading Key for Everything”.

Asmara, 11 September 2018- The International Day of Reading, 10 September, was observed at the Central region under the theme “Reading Key for Everything”.

At the event in which Ms. Askalu Menkorios, Minister of Tourism and Gen. Flipos Woldeyohannes, Chief of Staff of the Eritrean Armed Forces, and other senior Government officials took part, the President of the National Books Association, Mr. Kiflom Micael indicating on the significance of the day, said that reading has significant contribution in solving variety of problems and challenges.

Indicating that reading is the foundation of knowledge and development as well as guarantee for sustainable development of mankind, Mr. Alemseged Tesfai, researcher and author, called for integrated effort to inculcate the culture of reading among generations.
