The Ministry of Marine Resources and Diving Service Center are taking initiative to control environmental pollution that is negatively affecting marine bio-diversity.
Massawa, 12 September 2018- The Ministry of Marine Resources and Diving Service Center are taking initiative to control environmental pollution that is negatively affecting marine bio-diversity.
Member of the Diving Service Center, Mr. Petros Russom the activity being initiated to protect the bio-diversity will continue until the desired result is achieved.
Indicating that environmental pollution in general and that marine negatively affects the reproduction of fishes, Mr. Tesfa’alem Arefe, member of the Ministry of Marine Resources, on his part said that integrated effort is being conducted to control the environmental pollution before it affected the marine bio-diversity. He also called on the public and especially the youth to acquaint themselves with the marine resources and play due part in protecting them.
Mr. Semere Yohannes, head of Environment at the Ministry of Land, Water and Environment branch in the Northern Red Sea region, commending the initiative being taken by the Ministry of Marine Resources and Diving Service Center, called on others to follow their example.
Mr. Semere reiterated that environmental pollution has become global concern and that rigorous awareness raising programs are being conducted.
