NUEW branch in Holland holds congress

The National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) branch in the Netherlands conducted its congress on 15 September in Rotterdam.

Asmara, 21 September 2018- The National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) branch in the Netherlands conducted its congress on 15 September in Rotterdam.

The congress was attended by the Eritrean Ambassador to the European Union, Mr. Negassi Kassa, the Eritrean Consul in the Netherlands, Mr. Solomon Mehari as well as the Chairperson of the of the NUEW Europe region, Ms. Negisti Tsegai and representatives of various national associations.

Indicating that the congress is being conducted at a time of promising peace prospect and cooperation in the region, Ambassador Negassi called on the union to strive for increasing the awareness of its members and strengthen participation in the national development drives.

Ms. Negisti on her part said that the congress will be important forum for assessing strengths and challenges and thereby strive for increasing the organizational capacity of the union.

The participants conducted extensive discussion of the reports presented and elected an executive committee for three years term.
