Barentu, 05 October 2018 – Potable water project worth six million Nakfa has been inaugurated in Milezanai administrative area, Logo Anseba sub zone. The Governor of the Anseba region, Mr. Fessehaye Haile inaugurated the project on 30 September.
The project that was constructed in cooperation of nationals inside the country and abroad as well as the Western Command Economic Development and other partners includes 13m deep well, four water distribution stations, a 250 barrel capacity reservoir, a 3.5km long pipe line as well as 4.8KW solar power plant.
At the inauguration ceremony, the chairman of the village development committee, Mr. Mikiele Kebede stating that the implementation of the water project will benefit residents, the school, the health institution as well as the church located in the area, thanked the institutions and individuals that contributed in the success of the project.
Commending the initiative, Mr. Abraham Hagos, administrator of the Logo Anseba sub zone called on the residents to give special attention for the safety of the project.
Mr. Fessehaye Hailu, Governor of the Gash Barka region, on his part commending the initiative the residents took in the implementation of the project, called for increased activities in soil and water conservation activities.
The residents on their part stating that they were forced to walk long distances to fetch water, expressed appreciation to all parties that contributed in the construction of the water project.
Milezanai is one of the 13 administrative areas of the Logo Anseba sub zone comprising 4,500 residents.
