Workshop on strengthening teaching-learning process

A workshop aimed at strengthening the teaching-learning process was organized on 9 and 10 October in the Emni-Haili sub-zone.

Mendefera, 19 October 2018- A workshop aimed at strengthening the teaching-learning process was organized on 9 and 10 October in the Emni-Haili sub-zone. The workshop was attended by school directors, supervisors and teachers from 37 schools in the sub-zone.

The head of education in the sub-zone, Mr. Merih Kiros called on teachers to apply student centered educations in all levels and especially in junior and pre-schools.

Indicating that teachers have significant contribution in nurturing disciplined and competitive students, Mr. Merih called on teachers to make ample preparation for delivering their knowledge to students.

Mr. Abraham Mekonnen, administrator of the sub-zone, indicating that parents and the administrations are doing their level best to create conducive atmosphere for teachers, called for identifying shortcoming of schools and take remedial measures.

The participants on their part said that lack of follow-up of parents on their children has been the main reason for the low performance of students and called for strengthening participation in the effort to reinforce the teaching-learning process.
