A meeting on the role of strong organizational capacity of women in the success of the national development programs and socio-economic and political participation of women was conducted on 22 October in the port city of Massawa.
Massawa, 28 October 2018 – A meeting on the role of strong organizational capacity of women in the success of the national development programs and socio-economic and political participation of women was conducted on 22 October in the port city of Massawa.
Indicating that strengthening organizational capacity and awareness has significant contribution in ensuring the participation of women in all sectors of development, Ms. Jimaa Mahmud Raki, head of the National Union of Eritrean Women branch in the Northern Red Sea region, called for the integrated effort of all concerned bodies and society in supporting women in developing their academic and vocational skills.
Stating that strong initiative and hard work are the foundations for success, Ms. Jimaa reminded women to equip themselves with determination and hard work in order to succeed in life and that the Union with its partners is ready to help them in all their endeavors.
The participants on their part commending the efforts exerted to support them called for training to be organized for traditional midwives in remote areas, conducting campaigns aimed at ensuring the sustainability and increased participation of women in education among others.
