Seminar on activities of community magistrates

The Ministry of Justice organized seminar focusing on activities of community magistrates and the effort being exerted to strengthen them.

Barentu, 24 November 2018- The Ministry of Justice organized seminar focusing on activities of community magistrates and the effort being exerted to strengthen them.

Indicating that the community magistrates have been established to provide timely and efficient legal service to the public and to ensure social justice, Ms. Fauzia Hashim, Minister of Justice, said that sustainable assessment activities have been conducted with a view to strength their activity.

Pointing out that priority has been given to ensure the basic pillars of justice including the provision of open, equitable, timely and efficient as well free and accountable legal service to the public, Minister Fauzia gave extensive briefing on the program to exerted with a view to strengthen the capacity of the selected judges.

Minister Fauzia underlined that justice is not to be left for professionals only and called on the public to shoulder the responsibility in ensuring social justice.

The participants on their part conducted extensive discussion on the proposal presented and adopted recommendations.
