Workshop aimed at preventing communicable diseases, HIV/AIDS in particular was conducted here in the capital.

Asmara, 25 December 2018 – Workshop aimed at preventing communicable diseases, HIV/AIDS in particular was conducted here in the capital.

At the workshop that focused on the role of conscious youth in controlling the infection of HIV/AIDS, Mr. Habte Gebremeskel, head of Promotion and Information unit at the Ministry of Health branch in the Central region, stated that even though praiseworthy result is registered strong effort yet remains until the infection of the deadly virus declines to zero sum.

Mr. Habte went on to say that in Eritrea new HIV infections has declined below 1% and called on the society and administrations and organizations to strengthen contribution until the infection of the virus is totally eradicated.

Stating that every day 5 thousand new infections occur worldwide, Mr. Habte said that of the 20 HIV infections that occur on mothers, 5 infants are infected during delivery and 3 others during breastfeeding.
