Ten days training on Cartographic Information System has been provided to 30 staff members of the Ministry of Agriculture central office.
Asmara, 27 February 2019- Ten days training on Cartographic Information System has been provided to 30 staff members of the Ministry of Agriculture central office.
The training included basic Cartographic Information System, data analysis, refining information and cartography preparation.
At the graduation ceremony conducted on 26 February, Mr. Hirui Asgedom, D. G. of Department of Agriculture and Inspection, indicating that cartographic information system has significant contribution in the development of agricultural sector, said that similar training program will be organized to staff members engaged in agricultural activities up to village levels.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, Minister of Agriculture, said that cartographic information system has important contribution in designing viable agricultural policy as well as in presenting concise reports and follow-up.
Minister Arefaine also called on the trainees to apply the knowledge they acquired practically on the ground and play due part in the development of agriculture.
