Easter Holiday has been celebrated at Dekemhare city, Southern region featuring various public activities.
Mendefera, 29 April 2019 – Easter Holiday has been celebrated at Dekemhare city, Southern region featuring various public activities. The celebration has been organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Information, as well as the Southern region and Dekemhare sub-zone administrations.
Representing the Holidays Coordination Committee of the Dekemhare sub zone, Mr. Girmai Eset, managing director of the sub-zone expressed appreciation for the selection of Dekemhare for the celebration of Easter Holyday, and commended the residents of the sub-zone for their contribution in organizing the event.
Mr. Yemane Abera, administrator of the Dekemhare sub zone on his part, indicating on the significance of religious celebrations in nurturing national unity and tolerance, stated that the event was celebrated in Dekemhare to show solidarity and appreciation to the residents of Gakat and Gedele for resolving recently the 80 year farm land conflict between them.
At the event, Dekemhare sub zone administration handed over Certificates of appreciation for the villages of Gedele and Gakat.
The ceremony that was broadcast live by the national media outlets was highlighted by the performance of the cultural troupes of the Southern Region Aser.
