Asmara, 06 May 2019- Eritrean nationals in Qatar colorfully celebrated the 28th Independence Day anniversary on 3 May under the theme “Resilience for Higher Progress”.
The ceremony in which invited guests, Qatar based Ambassadors and members of the Diplomatic Corps of various countries, as well as hundreds of nationals took part was highlighted with musical and artistic performances by cultural troupe from Eritrea.
Indicating that the significance and meaning of this year’s anniversary highlights the heroic feat and perseverance demonstrated by the Eritrean people in realizing the prevailing peaceful era, the Eritrean Ambassador to Qatar, Mr. Ibrahim Ali stated that the people and Government of Eritrea will mobilize all resources towards the nation building process. He also commended nationals for their contribution in realizing the event.
The Chairman of the Eritrean Community in Qatar, Mr. Hashem Mahmud Hassan on his part indicated that Independence Day anniversary is a glorious day during which nationals renew their pledge and commitment to the implementation of the national development programs and to shoulder responsibility to support the families of martyrs.
Reports indicate that the celebrations of the 28th Independence Day anniversary in Qatar was held before the beginning of Ramadan fasting.
