Eritreans in various countries celebrate Independence Day anniversary

Eritreans residing in Kampala and in various Italian cities celebrated the 28th Independence Day anniversary with patriotic zeal.

Asmara, 28 May 2029- Eritreans residing in Kampala and in various Italian cities celebrated the 28th Independence Day anniversary with patriotic zeal.

At the celebration in Kampala in which about 800 nationals, friends of Eritrea and invited guests took part, Mr. Mohammed Suleiman, Eritrean Ambassador to Uganda, said that this year’s Independence Day celebration is unique for it coincides with the unfolding peace and cooperation in the region and called for reinforcing contribution and unity.

Mr. Okbamicael Yimesgen, chairman of Holydays Coordinating Committee, called on the nationals to strengthen participation and take advantage of the opportunities created.

At the event prices were awarded to winners of various competitions conducted in connection with Independence Day anniversary.

In the same vein, Eritrean nationals residing in the Italian cities of Milano, Roma, Napoli, Bologna, Bari and Torino have enthusiastically celebrated the 28th Independence Day anniversary.

Speaking at the celebration in Rome, the Eritrean Ambassador to Italy, Mr. Fesehatsion Petros called on the nationals to strengthen their unity and participation in the national development drives.

Similarly Eritrean nationals in the German cities of Stuttgart, Hamburg, Munich, Berlin, Kassel and Dusseldorf as well as in San Jose, the US, celebrated the 28th Independence Day anniversary featuring various programs portraying their attachment with their homeland.
