Commendable activities to support families of martyrs

The vegetables farming projects initiated to support and improve the livelihoods of families of martyrs in the four sub-zones of Gash Barka region are registering encouraging results. Barentu, 06 June 1019- The vegetables farming projects initiated to support and improve the livelihoods of families of martyrs in the four sub-zones of Gash Barka region are registering encouraging results.

Within the projects that are initiated by the Western Development Zone located in the sub-zones of Molki, Shambuko, Barentu and Laelai Gash 20 families of martyrs in each sub-zone have been provided with 10 hectares of land for group cultivation.

According to Mr. Franco Kubaba, member of the coordinating committee of the projects, members of the Eritrean Defense Forces in the areas have contributed in the preparation of the land for cultivation including clearing the land and digging water wells.

The beneficiaries on their part commending for the initiative that the Government is taking to improve their livelihoods, expressed resolve to work hard and contribute their part in stabilizing the local markets.
