Eritrean senior delegation delivers message of condolence to Dr. Abiy Ahmed

Eritrean senior delegation composed of Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Presidential Adviser Mr. Yemane Gebreab delivered message of condolence of President Isaias to Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, on the passing away of his father.

Asmara, 19 June 2019 – Eritrean senior delegation composed of Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Presidential Adviser Mr. Yemane Gebreab delivered message of condolence of President Isaias to Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, on the passing away of his father.

At the meeting conducted in Addis Ababa today, 19 June, Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed expressed his gratitude to President Isaias as well as the people of Eritrea for the solidarity they demonstrated during his mourning.

Prime Minister Dr. Abiy expressed readiness of his government to further consolidate the peace process underway and the ties of cooperation between the two countries.

The Eritrean delegation also participated in the tree seedlings planting program that was conducted at the compound of the Prime Minister’s office.

Indicating that the peace agreement signed between the two countries attests to the bold initiative the two leaders took, Mr. Yemane Gebreab said that commendable progress has been achieved within one year of the agreement.
