Orotta School of Medicine and Health Sciences graduates 677 students

The Orotta School of Medicine and Dentistry today, 24 August graduated 60 students with Medical Doctorate, 13 with masters, 207 with first degree and 397 students with diploma. 41% of the graduated are females.

 

Asmara, 24 August 2019- The Orotta School of Medicine and Dentistry today, 24 August graduated 60 students with Medical Doctorate, 13 with masters, 207 with first degree and 397 students with diploma. 41% of the graduated are females.

Explaining on the significance of medical field of study in the development of a country, Ms. Amina Nur-Husein, Minister of Health, said that the Government of Eritrea is relentlessly working to ensure equitable health service provision and that human resources development is one of the priority tasks. Ms. Amina further called on the graduates to live up to the expectations and serve the public with dedication and commitment.

Also speaking at the event, Prof. Yemane Seyum, Dean of Orotta School of Medicine and Dentistry, indicated that the school since its establishment in 2004 has produced 4555 health professionals in various fields of study.

Representative of the graduating batch commending for the support the Government, parents as well as instructors displayed during their stay in the school asserted readiness to serve the people and Government with higher dedication.
