70th Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC celebrated in Eritrea

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Eritrea colorfully celebrated the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China on the 28th of September.

Asmara, 04 October 2019 – The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Eritrea colorfully celebrated the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China on the 28th of September.

At the ceremony held at the premises of the Embassy, the Ambassador of the PRC to Eritrea, Mr. Yang Zigang stated that the 1st of October 1949 was the beginning of the people-centered journey to development and that in the last 70 years China has registered unparalleled achievements in the economic, diplomatic, social and cultural sectors.

Ambassador Zigang further briefed invited guests with statistics that over the past 40 years of reform and opening-up, China has lifted more than 700 million people out of poverty, became largest industrial nation in the world, and has significantly improved the standard of living of its citizens.

At the celebration event, a video presentation was staged on the epochs China passed through to reach the level that it has currently reached.

The celebration was attended by Ministers, Government officials; members of the Diplomatic Corps based in Eritrea as well as a number of invited guest.
