Asmara, 14 November 2019- Eritrean nationals in Sudan, Italy and the US have conducted various activities.
According to report, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Sudan, conducted seminar to nationals residing in Kassala, Gedaref and Port-Sudan on the objective situation in the homeland, regional and global developments, and progress of the relations between Eritrea and Sudan as well as consular services.
Indicating that Eritrean nationals in the Sudan had significant role and contribution in the armed struggle for independence and in national development endeavors, Mr. Ibrahim called for reinforced participation in nurturing and transferring the noble societal values to the young generation.
Mr. Ibrahim also met and held talks with administrators of Khartoum, Kassala and Port-Sudan regions focusing on the objective situation of Eritrean nationals and visited Eritrea schools in the regions.
The head of the Public and Community Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Sudan, Mr. Ismail Musa also conducted a meeting with the heads of Eritrean communities, National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students and YPDJ organization in Kassala, Gedaref and Port-Sudan focusing the implementation of the charted out activities and future programs.
Likewise, Eritrea and Sudan Week was held from 14 to 19 November organized in cooperation with Eritrean community in Khartoum and Eritrean and Sudanese Peoples Friendship Association.
At the event in which Sudanese intellectuals, authors, journalists as well as friends of Eritrea took part, research papers; pictorial and cultural programs were presented.
In the same vein, Milano branch of the National Union of Eritrean Women conducted its congress in attendance of Ms. Negisti Tsegai, chairperson of the NUEW in Europe, Mr. Girmai Hebtemicael, head of the Public and Community Affairs in Italy.
The participants held extensive discussion on the activities conducted in the past two years and elected executive committee for two years term.
Nationals residing in the US cities of Charlotte, Rally, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Tampa, Miami, Nashville, Orlando and Michigan commemorated the 40th anniversary of the founding of the National Union of Eritrean Women.
The event was highlighted by programs depicting the role and commitment of Eritrean women in the Diaspora and inside the country.
