Eritrean nationals residing in the Republic of South Sudan and Qatar conducted various activities.

 

Asmara, 02 January 2020- Eritrean nationals residing in the Republic of South Sudan and Qatar conducted various activities.

According to report, The Eritrean Embassy in Juba, Republic of South Sudan, in cooperation with the Eritrean community organized a meeting on 28 December with about 150 parents focusing on providing educational opportunity to the growing number of Eritrean children in that country.

At the meeting it was reported that there is a program in 2020 to establish a kindergarten and to provide first grade educational opportunity to children over 6 year of age in the premise of the Eritrean Embassy.

Mr. Yohannes Teklemicael, Eritrean Ambassador in South Sudan, said that the provision of educational opportunity to Eritrean children in Juba and its environs is part of the policy of the Eritrean Government to create educational opportunity to all Eritrean children.

In the same vein, members of the National Union of Eritrean Women in Qatar celebrated the 40th anniversary of the founding of the union on 27 December in Doha.

At the event in which staff members of the Eritrean Embassy and representatives of the Eritrean community and national associations took part, Ms. Jemila Osman, chairperson of the union branch, gave briefing on the contribution of the Eritrean women in realizing the national independence, safeguarding the national sovereignty as well as in the nation building process.

The Eritrean Ambassador in Qatar, Mr. Ali Ibrahim on his part commending the contribution of Eritrean women called for transferring the vibrant history to the young generation.

Representatives of the national associations also delivered messages of solidarity.
