Meeting on implementation of development programs

The Logo-Anseba sub-zone conducted assessment meeting on the activities conducted in 2019 and on the implementation of the charted out programs for 2020.

 

Barentu, 13 January 2019- The Logo-Anseba sub-zone conducted assessment meeting on the activities conducted in 2019 and on the implementation of the charted out programs for 2020. The meeting was attended by over 400 representatives of public and government institutions.

According to the report presented by Mr. Melake Gebrehiwet, managing director in the sub-zone, the major programs implemented in the sub-zone include conducting elections of area administrators, putting in place potable water project at the administrative areas of Liban, Adi-Hannes and Kerana-Kudo, construction of dams at Deki-Shehai and Adi-Hanns administrative areas as well as alleviating the transportation problem in cooperation with Harat Transportation Company.

Mr. Berhane Tsegai, head of the PFDJ in the sub-zone on his part said that financial and material support has been extended to families of martyrs, 96 km of dirt road has been renovated, and water and soil conservation activities have been conducted in which 58 thousand people took part.

Commending for the initiative the residents took to participate in various activities with a view to improve their livelihoods, Mr. Abraham Hagos, administrator of the sub-zone, called for reinforced participation in community based water and soil conservation and area administrators to play due part in the process.

Log-Anseba sub-zone is one of the 16 sub-zones in the Gash Barka region and is resident to about 36 thousand people.
