The religious observance also witnessed a night long prayer in all churches, the report added.

Memhir Simon Beyene gave briefing on the background of the Timket Holiday and called on every citizen to enhance participation in safeguarding national sovereignty and development. Memhir Simon Beyene further wished early recovery for the sick and happy Epiphany to the people of Eritrea and members of the Defense forces.

Finally, a prayer service headed by His Holiness Abune Petros, Archbishop of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church, as well as Abune Lukas, Secretary General of the Holy Synod, was conducted at the Epiphany Holy Water spot.
