MoA promotes Agricultural Mobile Applications

Agricultural Strategic Information Systems Division (ASISD) of the Ministry of Agriculture is introducing a number of mobile applications that enable experts and farmers to access important agricultural information on their mobile phones.

These stand-alone applications are available, at the moment, in English and Tigrinya only. So far, mobile applications as regards to crop production practices, Management and uses of sweet potato, Fall Armyworm (FAW) management; and Control of Paste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) – an important animal disease have been developed and released to potential users.

The ASISD intends to develop such application programmes and other Agricultural expert systems in the period ahead.
