Mendefera, 13 February 2020- A meeting focusing on the role of the society in general and that of the youth in particular in the nation building process was conducted on 10 February to youth workers in Mendefera.
Speaking at the occasion, Ambassador Tesfamicael Gerahtu from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained on the significance of youth equipped with the necessary knowledge and skill in the implementation of national development programs in the new era of peace and cooperation.
Indicating that change without active participation of the youth will not be sustainable, Ambassador Tesfamicael remained the youth to fully comprehend the past history of the Eritrean youth and strengthen participation in the nation building process by strengthening organizational capacity.
Pointing out that nurturing conscious youth that adheres to the noble societal values is priority task of the Eritrean Government, Ambassador Tesfamicael called on the youth to take advantage of the opportunities being provided and work for their bright future.
Mr. Saleh Ahmedin, Chairman of the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students, on his part said that ensuring active participation and strengthening organizational capacity of the youth has paramount contribution in realizing the charted out development programs.
