Asmara, 25 April 2020- Public committees in Halhal and Hagaz sub zones, Anseba region are extending financial and material support to disadvantaged citizens with a view to ease the burden they could encounter in connection with the “Stay at Home” guidelines to contain the spread of corona virus.
Pointing out that most people are adhering to the guidelines issued by the Government to fight the spread of corona virus, the report indicated that voluntary youth are playing significant role in raising money and extending support to disadvantaged citizens.
According to the report, eight administrative areas of Halhal sub zone and eight administrative areas in Hagaz sub-zone extended food items to 480 and 126 disadvantaged citizens respectively.
Glas Military Hospital also extended food items to needy citizens while the owner of Hotel Aman in Hagaz town donated the guest house to the Ministry of Health to be used as treatment and quarantine center until the spread of corona virus is pout under control.
The residents of Dekemhare sub-zone are also extending support to disadvantaged families with food items and allowing families that have rented their houses to stay free from rental fee ranging from one to three months.
Likewise, three social service provision institutions in Dubarwa sub-zone extended material support worth 22 thousand 500 Nakfa to 50 families.
