Contribution to augment COVID-19 National Fund

Asmara, 08 February 2021 – At the 4th phase of contribution recently conducted to augment the National Fund to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, nationals residing in the Republic of South Sudan contributed over 79 thousand USD and over 2.7million South Sudanese Pound (SSP).

According to report from the Eritrean Embassy in South Sudan, Eritrean workers in UN organizations contributed 2 thousand US Dollars, workers of various institutions 41 thousand 136 USD and about 2.6 million SSP, and the Eritrean Community in Wau contributed 5 thousand and 610 USD and 146 thousand SSP.

Likewise, owner of Rose Company in Wau contributed 5 thousand USD, owners of Gelila General Trading 6 thousand USD, owner of Maiko General Trading 3 thousand USD, owners of Oskar Hotel 4 thousand and 500 USD, and owners of small hotels, garages, clinics, pharmacies and other businesses contributed 12 thousand and 100 USD.

In four phases of contribution, the nationals residing in the Republic of South Sudan contributed a total of 589 thousand and 990 USD and 6 million 525 thousand and 800 SSP for augmenting the National Fund to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

In related news, the Ministry of Health reported that nationals residing in Canada have contributed a total of 549 thousand and 950 USD aimed at bolstering the National Fund to fight COVID-19 pandemic.
