Twenty-two patients have been diagnosed positive for COVID-19 in tests carried out today at Quarantine Centers and Testing Stations in the Southern, Central, Gash Barka, and Southern Red Sea Regions.
Out of these, eleven patients are from Testing Stations in Mendefera (4), Dekemhare (2), May-Dima (1), Adi-Keih (1), Areza (1), Senafe (1), and Emni Haili (1); Southern Region. Eight patients are from Quarantine Centers (2) and Testing Stations (6) in Asmara, Central Region. Two patients are from Testing Station in Barentu, Gash Barka Region. The last patient is from Testing Station in Assab, Southern Red Sea Region.
On the other hand, twenty-one patients who have been receiving medical treatment in hospitals in the Central (13) and Southern (8) Regions have recovered fully and have been discharged from these facilities. Sadly, 64 years old patient from the Central Region has passed away due to the pandemic.
The total number of recovered patients has accordingly increased to 7,542 while the number of deaths has risen to 68.
The total number of confirmed cases in the country to date has increased to 7,753.
