Eritrean nationals across the world are celebrating the 31st Anniversary of Eritrea’s Independence Day with great enthusiasm under the theme “Independent Choice-Backbone of Our Pride”.
At the celebration organized on 27 May in Kuwait in which Diplomats, friends of Eritrea as well as a number of nationals took part, Mr. Humed Yahya, Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Kuwait, indicated the heavy sacrifice the Eritrean people paid for their independence, called on nationals residing in Kuwait to strengthen contribution and participation in the national affairs.
Likewise, Eritrean nationals in Kenya celebrated the 31st anniversary of Independent Day with patriotic zeal.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Beyene Russom, Eritrean Ambassador to Kenya, pointing out that the Eritrean people have to go through heavy and intricate stages to realize their independence and safeguard the national sovereignty, said that today owing to its powerful people and Defense Forces as well as visionary leadership it has become a strong sovereign country.
In the same vein, Eritrean nationals in Denmark colorfully celebrated the 31st anniversary of Independence Day.
Indicating that the activities the Eritrean nationals conducted to celebrate their Independence Day attests to the strong affection they have towards their country, Mr. Isaias Gebray, head of Consular Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy to the Scandinavian countries, called for strengthening organizational capacity and participation in the national affairs.
Likewise, Eritrean nationals in the German cities of Berlin, Darmstadt, Giesn, Hamburg, Ulm, Nuremberg, Offenbach, and others celebrated the 31st anniversary of Independence Day anniversary featuring various programs depicting the day.
Officials from the Eritrean Embassy also delivered speeches focusing on the significance of Independence Day in the history of the Eritrean people and called on nationals to reinforce participation in the national development drives.
Similarly, at a ceremony conducted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in which a number of nations attended physically and others virtually, the chairman of the Eritrean community, Mr. Abdurahman Imam called on nationals as in past to strengthen participation in the national affairs.
Indicating that the shining victory of the Eritrean people in all sectors was based on the independent political choice, Ms. Weini Gerezgihier, Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Saudi Arabia, called on nationals in cooperation with nationals residing in other countries to strengthen their overall resilience.
Ms. Weini also congratulated the Eritrean people inside the country and abroad as well as the Eritrean Defense Forces.
The event was highlighted by cultural and artistic performances, debating among the youth as well as sports competitions.
In the same vein, Eritrean nationals in Doha, Qatar, enthusiastically celebrated the 31st anniversary of Independence Day featuring various programs depicting the day.
The celebratory event that was organized on 26 May was attended by a number of nationals and members of the Diplomatic Corps of various countries.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ali Ibrahim, Eritrean Ambassador to Qatar, called on nationals to strengthen organizational capacity and contribution in the national affairs.
Mr. Ali also commended those that contributed to the successful Independence Day event.
At the event, the award was handed over to winners of a football competition that was organized in connection with the Independence Day anniversary.
Similarly, the 31st anniversary of Independence Day was colorfully celebrated by nationals residing in Cologne, Germany, in which a number of nationals took part.
Eritrean nationals in Portland, Oregon, and Uppsala, Sweden, also colorfully celebrated the 31st anniversary of Independence Day featuring various programs.
In other related news, Eritrean nationals in various cities of Germany celebrated the 31st anniversary of Independence in fervor under the theme “Independent Choice-Backbone of Our Pride” featuring various cultural and artistic programs.
At the events the nationals expressed conviction to strengthen organizational capacity and participation in the national affairs.
At the celebratory event organized in Reutlingen on 21 May, Mr. Yonas Tsehaye, secretary of national committee in Cologne explained on the significance of contribution of conscious youth organization in the national affairs and called for strengthening organizational capacity and participation for better outcome.
Nationals in Kassel also celebrated the 31st anniversary of Independence Day on 26 May featuring various program.
At the event, Mr. Abraham Gebrezgiabihier, chairman of the National Holidays Coordinating Committee, gave briefing focusing on the deep meaning of the Independence Day celebrations and the heavy sacrifice paid for its realization.
Mr. Abraham also said that the strong participation of the youth on the national affairs attests to the effort being exerted to transfer the noble societal values among the young generation.
In the same vein, at the ceremony virtually conducted in Japan, Mr. Estifanos Afwerki, Eritrean Ambassador to Japan, indicating that the Independence Day is the outcome of the heavy human and material sacrifice the Eritrean people paid for their independence, congratulated the Eritrean people inside the country and abroad.
Mr. Achiro Aizawa, Chairman of Japan-African Union Parliamentary Friendship Association, also congratulated the Eritrean people in connection with the 31st anniversary of Independence Day.
