Eritrean community festival in Italy

Asmara, 04 July 2022- The annual Eritrean community festival in Italy was enthusiastically conducted on 2 and 3 July in the city of Bologna.

At the festival in which nationals from all cities in Italy as well as invited guests and friends of Eritrea took part, regional administrators have been invited as guests of honor.

The festival that was officially opened by Mr. Fesehaye Haile, Governor of the Central Region, included a photo exhibition stage by Media Committee.

Indicating the significance of festivals in strengthening unity and preserving Eritrean culture as well as transferring the noble societal values to the young generation, Mr. Fesehatsion Petros, Eritrean Ambassador to Italy, said that this year’s festival is unique for it is being conducted after two years of absence due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Ambassador Fesehatsion also said that the participation of the regional Governors has added color to the festival.

The friends of Eritrean and invited guests that participated in the festival commending the perseverance and resilience of the people and Government of Eritrea, expressed conviction to robustly continue their friendship and cooperation.

At the event, Mr. Fesehaye Haile, Governor of the Central Region provided an extensive briefing on the objective situation in the homeland as well on the set out national development programs.

The annual festival was highlighted by cultural and artistic programs as well as sports competitions.

On the occasion, the nationals contributed 37 thousand 500 Euros towards activities of the Eritrean community.
