Seminar on labor law in Mendefera

Mendefera, 18 September 2023- The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare branch in the Southern region organized seminar to owners and workers of social service provision institutions in the Mendefera sub-zone on 15 September.

At the seminar, Mr. Rezene Woldeamlak, head of the office branch in the sub-zone, said that strong effort is being exerted to develop the understanding of the participants on labor law with a view to minimize labor disputes as well as to ensure the health and safety of workers at work place.

Mr. Rezene also gave extensive briefing on the history of labor law in Eritrea, the objective situation of employers and employees, and called on the participants to understand their responsibilities and rights and provide priority to the safety of workers.

Mr. Hizkias Wuhbet, administrator of the sub-zone, on his part called on the workers to respect their work and give utmost attention to customers and employees to respect the rights of their workers.

In the Southern region there are 1 thousand 313 social service provision institutions and 140 in the Mendefera sub-zone.
