The inhabitants of Hamelmalo sub-zone stressed the need for facilitating the process of installing mobile phone service in the area. Hamelmalo, 22 September 2010 – The inhabitants of Hamelmalo sub-zone stressed the need for facilitating the process of installing mobile phone service in the area.
They told ERINA that they have been compelled to travel to Keren town to get access to phone service, and that the sudden halting of the process of putting in place telephone tower in the sub-zone should begin as early as possible. The local inhabitants further urged ERI-TEL to work diligently in enabling the inhabitants get access to reliable telephone service.
Reports indicated that various social services have been expanded in the sub-zone that are playing significant role in improving the people’s life style.
The Administrator of Hamelmalo sub-zone, Ms. Haregu Woldegergis, pointed out that as part of efforts to install mobile service in the sub-zone, the necessary infrastructure facilities are being put in place towards installing telephone tower in Tsebab along the Keren-Hamelmalo route.
The head of ERI-TEL branch office in Anseba region, Mr. Goitom Tekle, stated on his part that study has been undertaken to put in place similar towers in Melebso, Geleb, Halhal, Taba-Aserte, Rikeb and Amalait with a view to expanding telephone service.
