Agriculture Research Centre Gives Training to Farmers from Anseba and Gash-Barka Regions

The Hamelmalo National Agriculture Research Centre gave training to farmers from Anseba and Gash-Barka regions in collaboration with the branch offices in both regions.
Barentu, 7 May 2010 – The Hamelmalo National Agriculture Research Centre gave training to farmers from Anseba and Gash-Barka regions in collaboration with the branch offices in both regions.

Mr. Niguse Abraha, an expert in the research centre, said that the training, which is the first of its kind, focused on improving crop cultivation, soil and water conservation, as well as the role of modern agricultural technology in raising productivity.

The head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Gash-Barka region, Mr. Meseret Gebremichael, reminded the public at large and the farming community in particular to exert utmost effort for the success of the Centre’s training program.

The trainees on their part explained that the program and the educational tour they conducted to sites where exemplary farmers live were served to in enrich their knowledge and experience.
