Soil and Water Conservation Activities Underway in Hamelmalo Sub-zone

Soil and water conservation activities are underway in various areas of Hamelmalo sub-zone, according to Mr. Idris Abdalla, in charge of economic development in the sub-zone.
Hamelmalo, 7 May 2010 – Soil and water conservation activities are underway in various areas of Hamelmalo sub-zone, according to Mr. Idris Abdalla, in charge of economic development in the sub-zone.

He pointed out that such activities are part of the integrated national resolute rebuff program, and that the local inhabitants are demonstrating enthusiasm in the task.

A number of terraces and embankments have being put in place in the administrative areas of Libena, Genfelom, Ferhein, Ajerbeb, Wazintet, Hamelmalo and Filedarb which were previously exposed to erosion. Moreover, 7 Km.-long road from Berkentia-Ziron has been renovated.
