Asmara, 9 May 2010 – The 8th World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day was marked in colorful manner.
Students and youth of nine secondary schools conducted a parade lead by disabled war-veterans in the city of Asmara from Keih-Bahri to the office Ministry of Education.
An art exhibition which reflected the Eritrean National Association of Red Cross and Red Crescent activities was displayed outside the Ministry of Education.
The Eritrean National Association of Red Cross and Red Crescent is actively engaged in providing first aid, ambulance and various forms of assistance during emergency situations.
The International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies was established in June 1859 and now has about 186 branches across the world.
