Agricultural Activities Being Enhanced in Elabered Sub-Zone
The inhabitants of various villages in Elabered sub-zone are carrying out the necessary agricultural activities towards achieving food security.
Elabered, 16 June 2010 – The inhabitants of various villages in Elabered sub-zone are carrying out the necessary agricultural activities towards achieving food security.
They told ERINA that they are striving to put available farmland under cultivation through active popular participation for the benefit of the people. The local inhabitants further stated that the development campaign is an integral part of the national development drive being undertaken in all corners of the country.
The head of economic development in the sub-zone, Mr. Teklu Kafil, indicated on his part that effective activities are being carried out in the villages of Yigiar, Adi-Berbere, Halib-Mentel, Eden, Idirba, Wasdemba, Deki-Andu, Dembe-Habtestion, Hadish-Adi, Era-Tahtai, She’ib-Seleba and Debresina. About 1,000 people are actively engaged in the undertaking on a daily basis.
The popular campaign focused on renovation of canals and feeder roads, among others.
