Over 18 Million Nakfa Donated By Eritrean Nationals Residing Abroad Being Paid To Martyrs’ Families

Over 18 million Nakfa donated by Eritrean nationals residing abroad this year is being paid to families of fallen heroes in six administrative regions, stated Ms. Asmeret Abraha, head of community service at the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare.

Asmara, 17 June 2010 – Over 18 million Nakfa donated by Eritrean nationals residing abroad this year is being paid to families of fallen heroes in six administrative regions, stated Ms. Asmeret Abraha, head of community service at the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare.

Commending the active participation of the nationals in extending support to martyrs’ families, she explained that they also maintain close relations with the families, even traveling to remote areas of the country during their visit to the Homeland.

Noting that mutual support is the noble culture of the Eritrean people, Ms. Asmeret called on nationals inside the country and abroad to further enhance their contribution in fulfillment of the trust of martyrs.

Mr. Mekonnen Haile from Danish City of Copenhagen, who is supporting two martyrs’ families, explained the satisfaction he got from such gesture.

It is to be recalled that about 57 million Nakfa contributed by nationals residing abroad has been extended to 10,320 families of fallen heroes.
